3. Speed Loss

In this example:

  • Shift time:                                         500 min
  • Total entered activity time:          100 min
  • Not registered:                                400 min
  • Max output:                                     100min x 1000 pcs = 100.000 pcs
  • Set speed                                          800 pcs/min
  • Expected output:                            100min x 800 pcs = 80.000 pcs
  • Actual Output:                                 80.000 Good Product

Result:

  1. Availability 20% (100min/500min)
  2. Performance: 80% (Actual output / Maximum Output)
  3. Quality: 100% (Actual Output = Good Product)
  4. OEE = 20% x 80% x 100% = 16%
  5. Speed Loss = production time * (Max Speed – Set Speed) = 100min * (1000-800) = 20000
